British actress Joely Richardson has apparently admitted that people started treating her in a very different way following a lesbian sex scene.

The Nip/Tuck actress had to perform the steamy scene with her co-star Portia de Rossi and according to the Star, this dramatically changed her image with the TV crew.

"There is such a thing as lesbian chic," the 42-year-old is quoted as saying. "Am I allowed to say that? I think it turns men on."

The actress, who puckers up with Portia, 34, continued: "When I was playing Julia the housewife, always chopping vegetables, people were sweet and lovely.

"But now when I play Julia as a sexy bitch in a dream sequence? Well, I got a very different reaction when I walked onto the set!"

The scenes between their two on-screen characters, Olivia Lord and Julia McNamara, will hit British television next summer on the FX channel.

Joely Richardson has reportedly revealed that she gets more attention now she is playing a lesbian character in Nip/Tuck.

The 42-year-old Brit’s character, Julia McNamara, has a romance with Olivia Lord (played by real life lesbian Portia De Rossi) in the new series.

And Joely confessed that she is delighted with the new storyline because it has made her more popular with male fans, reports the Daily Express.

"I think it turns men on," she is quoted as saying.

"When my character Julia was the married housewife always chopping vegetables people were sweet and lovely. But now I’m playing her as a sexy b**** with a big padded bra and a short skirt I get a very different reaction.

"I think men respond to the sexiness of two women being together."

The show has apparently been enjoying record ratings since Joely’s character has been enjoying her lesbian coupledom.

British actress Joely Richardson has reportedly decided to leave US drama Nip/Tuck to care for her sick daughter.

The 41-year-old blonde, who has become one of America’s most popular actresses, has said she will put her career on hold and return to London.

Joely’s daughter Daisy, 15, has a rare medical condition that affects her blood circulation and will be undergoing a series of operations on her legs, reports the Daily Mail.

"Surgeons and hospitals have been a big part of our lives," the paper quotes Joely as saying.

"We were always told that she would have to have more surgery when she got older. The time has come."

Joely is divorced from Daisy’s father, film producer Tim Bevan, but the couple share custody. The star, who spends half the year in LA, said she was unsure when she would return to the plastic surgery drama.

"I love my work," she said. "But I had to be in two places at once and I thought, ’If it were all over tomorrow, what would I regret?’ It would be not being there for her."

Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy said he was hoping her character Julia McNamara would return. "I don’t want to do the show without her," he said.
